The rule, guide, final authority and foundation of the faith of Jesus Christ is the Holy Scriptures. That is what we call the Bible. For those who believe and follow the end-time message it is critical that we go back to the bible and truly accept it as the final authority. The words of any other pastor, prophet or teacher must speak in accordance with the law, the prophets and the apostles or they are teaching false doctrine. There is no more revelation given beyond what is contained in the 66 books of the bible. Any teaching is true based upon whether it lines up with scripture.
Thus, what we were given by God through William Branham is to bring us back to a proper understanding of what is already in scripture. It is to restore us to the perfect word in the bible. I believe in his teaching and stand for it because it is biblical, not because of a supernatural occurrence. The supernatural that occurred in the life of William Branham was to catch the eyes of the people. Sometimes a prophet can perform a miracle and do something supernatural and it comes to pass, but if the prophet does not bring you back to the bible and faith in it then do not hear that prophet.
“If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.
(Deuteronomy 13:1-4)
There are many heresies being taught amongst those who purport to believe in his teachings. One is that his message is a third testament. The word testament is another word for covenant and we are under the new covenant that was ratified by Jesus Christ’s blood. To say we are under a third testament which is the messages or spoken word books of William Branham is to take people away from the blood of Christ which is antichrist.
Another error that is commonly taught is that every word that William Branham spoke is inspired and to treat it as though it is scripture. What he spoke pointed us back to scripture. He pointed back to the absolute, the bible. It does not become another scripture, thus using his quotes as though they are bible verses is not proper and is dishonest. If you do not understand what he taught in light of the scripture then you are falling into error. If you do not understand what he is meaning then leave it alone and teach the bible. He said over and over again to stay with the bible and to take what he said back to the bible. His sermons are not word for word inspired. God gave the revelation of various bible subjects to him and then he went and did his best to relate it back to us through his own words and study. The entire point is to understand what is in the bible and not to merely understand what he is saying in his sermons.

This is correct. Scripture IS the absolute and final authority of the Judeo-Christian Revelation. That excludes the quotes of William Branham as being the “restoration” of the UNDERSTANDING of the Word. William Branham the evangelist was one among many evangelists of the Post WW2 mid 20th century ‘healing evangelism’ revival. He functioned as an evangelist. After the revival took up the role of ‘teacher/prophet’ which has given birth to the Branhamites who revere the quotes of William over the Word of Jesus. Several citations can be offered as proof of this asserations. One is the setting of a date for the PAROUSIA of Messiah. The other is contradiction concerning the New Birth as taught by William Branham regarding the Jews who suffered under Hitler and Stalin.
Date setting has been the bain of the professing Christian Church as well as other secular persons and organizations. Jesus said it could NOT be known but over 200 plus persons, including William Branham thought differently … and failed.
The entire “restoration” theme of William as that of Charles Taze Russell, Ellen G. White, Joseph Smith and others is not applicable to the gentile engrafts compromising the church. It is to Israel exclusively. The church is gathered out, not restored. There is no Bible for:
Gentile 4th Coming of “Elijah.”
Gentile Malachi Messenger
Gentile Church Restoration
Gentile 7th “Church Age angel.”
No true born again man or woman is bound to the teachings of William Branham IF they conflict with the ABSOLUTE … the Word as Written. Thus, undue reverance for the man is misplaced. He is to be regarded as any other brother who ministered in bygone days as he conformed with the Word. William Branham was a brother in the Lord but not, “Elijah”or the Malachi Messenger, the 7th Coming of Elijah to the church or the “prophet to the age.” He said it best: ‘ … I am just another pebble on the beach.’
True.
The Branhamites are a splinter Pentecostal cult. They CANNOT consider Scripture as the ABSOLUTE and continue to regard William as the absolute. One will have to be sacrificed on the alter of exegesis. I already know the outcome. As your fine article explains, Scripture is the Absolute has already met with great resistence in the Branhamite forums by fanatics. They are married to William not to the Lord Jesus.
I have’nt commented concerning the “SerpentMan” article but will only say here: “there is not a scintilla of Biblical evidence to prove Eve had sex with the ‘missing link.'”
All in all you have a very commendable web site.
