We recently learned that on March 5th Pastor Behnam Irani had his cell searched by prison authorities and VEVAK. They confiscated his Bible, message books and books that he had checked out of the prison library. According to Iranian law, each prisoner should have access to their religious materials, but since the Twelver Shia Islam, government of Iran considers him an apostate from Islam he is denied this right.
Pastor Amin Khaki, along with brother Rahman “Ziya” Bahmani and brother Hossein “Daniel” Baroun, who are from Ahwaz, Iran are being held in prison in Shoush, Iran. They were arrested March 6, 2014 during a church picnic. Initially they were informed they would be held for 48 hours and released on Saturday the 8th, but to this day they continue to be held without bail being set or charges being brought against them. They have been able to briefly contact their relatives to let them know they are ok. VEVAK (Iran’s secret police) has slowly been building a case against brother Amin, in December his home was raided and later that month he was interrogated.
Please remember these Christians in your prayers. They are facing great difficulties because of their faith and they have not backed down one inch. Pray for their families as well. Sister Kristina Irani is dealing with stomach ulcers that are causing her a lot of pain right now. Her faith is strong and her attitude is positive. But caring for two young children day in and day out without the help of a husband is extremely difficult work.
