Iran’s VEVAK Seeking To Devour the Church

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:8–9

The Iranian church is facing unprecedented pressure right now to recant their faith and discontinue their ministry to the saints. Take one large church in Karaj that has sister churches throughout the country; three of their pastors are in prison right now;

1. Pastor Behnam Irani serving six years in Ghezal Hezar in Karaj
2. Pastor Amin Khaki in Karoon prison of Ahwaz awaiting charges
3. Pastor Silas Rabbani in Rajai Shahr prison of Karaj awaiting charges but informally accused of apostasy

Satan’s purpose is to bring these men, their families and people in the church to a place of such paralyzing fear that they become silent about their faith in Jesus Christ and even bring them to the point of denying Jesus Christ. As I spoke with one sister in the Lord she told me she would not obey the orders of Iran’s government and would not be afraid because if I am afraid of men that I cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Satan is using Iran’s VEVAK to seek to devour people and cause them to recant their faith. This same work is being done in the world around us in our jobs and in our families. Who will remain true to? Will you compromise your stand for the word of God for popularity or a meal ticket? Or will you risk it all to remain faith to the Lord Jesus Christ?
