Several volunteers are needed to assist Iranian refugees that have been resettled to Minnesota. It would be a great opportunity to serve those in need by dedicating a little of your time to bless them.
The refugees need help 2 to 3 hours per week. A volunteer available weekly would be wonderful! But another great option would be to create a rotating weekly schedule for multiple volunteers to keep the time commitment minimal to everyone’s busy schedules.
The refugees would need assistance with any of the following:
- Assist with paperwork that has come in the mail by helping them understand what it is and if they need to take action
- Taking them grocery shopping
- Helping with phone calls regarding paperwork, bills, etc.
- Assistance with probing bus schedules
- Assistance with various household issues
- Running errands
- Scheduling food shelf visits
You would need have access to a car, schedule regular visits, and be able to drive varying distances through the Twin Cities.
