When we investigate the subject of the gene of God, a beautiful picture begins to unfold. This revelation is connected to many subjects throughout the Bible: serpent seed; the pre-flood condition of mankind; the post-flood conditions; the Tower of Babel; predestination; the virgin birth; the new birth, etc. Let’s examine a quote from Brother Branham and look at some defini?tions.

“323. If there’s any in here tonight, Lord, that’s holding in their heart that grain, that gene of God that’s ordained to Life from the foundation of the world; I know, Lord, that they’re bound to hear at this hour.” [1]
The word “gene” from dictionary.com meaning: “the basic physical unit of heredity; a linear sequence of nucleotides along a segment of DNA that provides the coded instructions for synthesis of RNA, which, when translated into protein, leads to the expression of hereditary character.”
The gene of God in this context is clearly not speaking of physical characteristics, but rather the spiritual aspect of man. The spiritual aspect of man consists of a spirit and a soul. The spirit of man equates with the mind of man. “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.” ?1 Corinthians 2:11
The spirit contains five mental senses, like the body contains the five natural senses. The five natural sense are how we make contact with the world around us: see, taste, feel, smell and hear. The five mental senses also make contact with the world around us: reason, memory, conscience, affection and imagination. Then there is the soul. The Bible often refers to the soul as the whole of who the man really is, the real you.
“The soul that sinneth, it shall die…” Ezekiel 18:20
Was it the soul, the spirit or the body that sinned? Yes. But here the soul speaks of the whole being of man, the real you. Scripturally and according to the Message: “the soul is the nature of the spirit.”
“Now remember, now, the soul is the nature of the spirit, of course.” [2]
According to Webster’s 1828 Dictionary “nature” means: “the essence, essential qualities or attributes of a thing, which constitute it what it is; as the nature of the soul; the nature of blood; the nature of a fluid; the nature of plants, or of a metal; the nature of a circle or an angle. When we speak of the nature of man, we understand the peculiar constitution of his body or mind, or the qualities of the species which distinguish him from other animals. When we speak of the nature of a man, or an individual of the race, we mean his particular qualities or constitution; either the peculiar temperament of his body, or the affections of his mind, his natural appetites, passions, disposition or temper. So of irrational animals.”
When Brother Branham iterates, the soul is the nature of the spirit, this speaks of what makes up his particular temperament and desires, his disposition, etc. It is what makes him what he is. Brother Branham tells us that there are two natures in man, two natures in the soul of man.
“45. I was saying this, taking for myself, like you was going to say, “William Branham, well, forty years ago, the William Branham, it isn’t the same one tonight.” If somebody back there would say, “William Branham, he was a rank rascal,” see, because I was born of Charles and Ella Branham. In their nature I was a sinner, I came to the world, a liar, and all the habits of the world laid right in me. But down in there, too, was another Nature present, see, predestinated, was in there by God. In this same body, see, two natures in there.” [3]
There were two natures present in his soul, the nature of the world as a sinner, etc. and the nature of God. It is this other nature that is present within those who were chosen in the mind of God before the foundation of the world.
“49. What was it? There was another William Branham. See? A little spot of Eternal Life down there, from the—the—the genes of God, the Word of God that was placed in there.” [4]
The other nature in them was a little spot of eternal life “from the gene of God.” In one soul there are two natures. The soul’s two natures govern the spirit of man. There is a nature to do evil and there is a nature to do good. The next question that comes up is this: is this “little spot of Eternal Life” in the soul coming directly from God out of heaven or is it passed on from generation to generation from each set of parents?
When Adam sinned God removed physical immortality from him and made him subject to death. However, Adam was still immortal in his soul. As we look at the serpent seed we come to understand that the whole of mankind is of a hybrid race. This is how we are born in sin; that is, born with a sinful nature. Therefore, we understand that our soul comes to us genetically via our parentage.
“84. But every man, no matter whether he’s the pope, priest, bishop, whatever he is, he dies be?cause he’s a—he’s a hybrid. That’s exactly.” [5]
“190. But, God, specially upon Adam, breathed the Breath of Eternal Life, and he become an Eternal person with God.” [6]
God
put his very own life within Adam and then as Adam reproduced himself through
Eve his genetic traits passed down to his children. Then as Brother Branham
said we are all hybridized because of Noah and his wife producing hybrid
children. Noah was a pure son of God and his wife had to have been a hybrid.
From Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives we all receive our
genetic traits. Then, a child is born to eternal life only by election.
