“78. And I want you to notice how Daniel, yet an alien, yet ousted from his people, ousted from his church, without one church service, without any church to go to, without any hymns to be sang but what he sang hisself, in the midst of all this, still held onto what that prophet said. Amen! Amen!
79. No church to go to, nobody to fellowship with; everybody went to heathen temples, everybody worshipped their idols. No Christian songs; nobody believed the same thing he did. And in sixty-eight years, from a young man of about twelve, fourteen years old, when he was taken down there, he held true to God; and understood by Jeremiah’s prophet that the days were almost accomplished.” [1]
This is Brother Branham speaking on the incredible testimony of Daniel, the prophet. In another place he adds that Daniel did not have the baptism of the Holy Ghost or the blood of Jesus Christ. I want to take these quotes as the basis for this section. Now, I’m not encouraging leaving a church and staying home. In fact, we are to gather together more as we see the day approaching. What I am wanting to emphasize is that our walk is not a group, church walk. Our walk is to be an individual one between ourselves and God alone.
“113. That’s the way it is to all believers, they’re a mystic. The people don’t understand, because they live in a world to themselves. Jesus lived in a world that nobody else could touch. The disciples couldn’t understand Him. When He spoke to them, they say this. And then they said, “Why, You—You talk in riddles! We—we don’t understand this. How can this be?” See, they wasn’t in the world that He lived in. See, they couldn’t understand Him, nobody could understand Him.
114. And so when a man lives by faith and walks by faith, I mean substance faith, he is isolated from the entire world and becomes a new creature in Christ. There, now you’re getting into Bride material. See? See? See? You’re getting into rapturing condition, now. That means for each one of us; not just the pastor, deacons, trustees. That means for the laity, every individual walks in a world with God alone. You’re baptized into this Kingdom, and there’s nobody in there but you and God. See? He gives the orders, and you pack them out. Whatever He says, there’s not a shadow of doubt nowhere, you walk right on.” [2]
Here he is telling us what Perfect Faith is and what Bride material is, i.e the attributes of being the Bride of Christ. He says, “… every individual walks in a world with God alone.” This is the characteristic of each member of the Bride of Christ. They do not merely walk in a good church where there is good Bible preaching. They aren’t characterized by having the best pastor or the most balanced church. They are characterized by having a relationship with God that causes them to be a mystery to the world and that when they walk with God it is as though they walk in a world with him alone. He even says of the individual that “… is isolated from the entire world and becomes a new creature in Christ.” God does not call us to be groupies, following the great senior pastors of the Message. There is nothing wrong with pastors, you must have one; there is nothing wrong with churches, you must go to one; but that is not the extent of your walk. The pastor and the church help you to walk… “in a world with God alone.”
“297. It’s a personal, individual affair with the person, that Christ is revealed to
them.
298. And if you say, ‘He’s been revealed to me,’ and then the Life that Christ produced here in the Bible, that same Life is in Him, does not produce Itself in you, then you’ve got the wrong revelation.” [3]
Daniel
walked alone with God. He was in a place where he did not have synagogue
service every day. He did not have the temple, the priests or even a godly
king. He was working for a pagan king in a pagan kingdom and he was the only
believer around. We find that he prayed three times per day and was never
willing to give up this practice even if it meant the death sentence. He had
his own individual prayer life and relationship with Almighty God. Though all
around him they stood against him, Daniel stayed true to the faith of God. If
you left your church today and moved to a pagan country where it was just you
as a believer, what would you do? How would you live your life? It truly
becomes an individual affair in that moment. Who would you become? Or would you
stand alone and remain a mystery to the world where you live in a world with
God alone where, “… he gives the orders, and you pack them out.”
