The Foolish Virgin

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.Matthew 25:6-7

The foolish virgin arise from slumber with the wise virgin. when then the friend of the groom says, “Behold the Bridegroom.” So you can say that they respond to the message.

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. Matthew 25:8

If you look carefully at the tense of the Greek for the word “gone out” it actually is “going out.” Apparently the foolish virgin had oil in their lamps, but they did not take any “oil in their vessels with their lamps.” (Matthew 25:4) In other words the wise were wise because they not only took oil in their lamps they also brought extra in a vessel.

In Revelation 17 the great whore is the Roman Catholic Church, but she is also the mother of harlots. So she has given birth and produced the Protestant denominations. Can these be virgins when they remain in a prostitute system? These foolish virgin are virgin, they are pure in the word, not stained with man’s denominational doctrine and they have oil in their lamps, but their lamps are going out. They have eternal life and they have heard the message, but they could not enter into the marriage feast laid out for them.
