Regarding Prophecy and Recent Lapses of Faith

We read about how liberal theologians and historians have attacked the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament as inaccurate in regards to history and prophecy. People have searched for hundreds of years and have said that many stories of the Bible are lies. Liberal scholars have said this about the story of Jonah, about the power of Solomon, about the flood, about the kings of the Medes and the Persians and the list continues on. As archeologists and historians continue on in their studies they learn that indeed the Bible’s prophecies and history is true.
The same is happening now with the prophecies of brother Branham. Now, researches are beginning to say, “the prophecies of brother Branham are not true based upon various historical or interpretive evidence.” This is what liberal theologians have done to the Bible. Just give it some time and allow God to work out all these apparent discrepancies.
Here is an explanation from an Iranian pastor, “Let me give an example regarding prophecy. God said to Jeremiah that he will be the prophet of the Nations, but it never happened literally. However, Paul became the apostle of the Nations because he has the same anointing. God told Isaiah that Medes will destroy Babel, but actually Persians did it, but both were Iranians. But to look closely at history we can say that Persians were the successors of the Medians. The prophet perceives a trend and chooses one person who represents the trend or movement. It is very deep and we should remember that some prophecies are not literal.” Many people try to interpret prophecies literally and then say that it is a false prophecy.
People do exactly the same thing to the Bible as they are doing to brother Branham’s prophecies. We can see the trend of God’s working and teaching in brother Branham’s life. We can understand that he was a humble man and that God worked mightily. We can also see that his teachings are in line with the Scriptures. But we have to remember that God did not stop working for the salvation of men through the Gospel and that when a man of God dies we cannot settle down into a creed. We have to keep moving as the Holy Spirit directs us and unfolds himself to us and in us.
Brother Branham brought us back to the original faith and we can now look in the Scripture and see the full truth of it. Let’s keep our focus on Jesus Christ and the reality of his life changing word. He restores souls, he fills the hungry, he picks up the down trodden and he is the same yesterday, today and forever. We can have confidence in the message because it points us to Jesus Christ TODAY. Satan is not against what God was doing yesterday, but he is against what GOD is doing now.
The Spirit of God is moving in the message to bring us back to this truth again. We can no longer argue about theology. We know the truth and now we must follow God’s trend to go out into the highways and byways to compel them to come to the supper. When they come to this supper their whole lives will be changed and they will begin to grow up into the reality and truth of who God is and how he is revealing himself now.
