Behnam Irani’s Faith Remains Strong

Behnam Irani

Pastor Behnam Irani has served a little over two years of his six-year sentence for activities as a Christian in Iran.  He remains in poor health, but his faith is strong and his attitude is positive.  Remember him in prayer on a daily basis.  Also, we ask that you keep his family in prayer as well.  He has a 12-year old daughter and a four-year old son.  They are missing their father very much.  Kristina is doing all she can to stay strong and be both a father and mother to the children.  Just as her husband, her faith is very strong and her attitude is positive.  Pray that God would:

• heal the body of Pastor Behnam

• protect him in prison

• strengthen and encourage his faith

• protect and provide for Kristina and family

• give comfort and peace to Rebeka and Adriel

Active Pastors

Pray for those ministers who continue to work in Iran even with the threat of imprisonment and torture.  They need wisdom, strength, and courage to continue in the path God has laid out for them.

Shiraz

There are eight believers in Shiraz that were sentenced to varying lengths of prison terms.  We have not heard any news as to whether the eight believers have reported to prison yet. Morning Star News states, “Mohammad Roghangir was sentenced to six years in prison; Massoud Rezaie to five years; Mehdi Ameruni and Bijan Farokhpour Haghighi were sentenced to three years; Shahin Lahooti and Suroush Saraie to two-and-half years; and Eskandar Rezaie and Roxana Forughi to one year in prison.”

Alireza Seyyedian

Alireza Seyyedian remains in Evin prison and we do not have any news regarding his situation. He is serving a five-year sentence.  Please remember him in prayer.

Conclusion

Persecution continues in Iran with many Christians being arrested and imprisoned to long sentences.  Any hope of change from the new President has not been realized.  An appeal regarding the sentence of eight years for Saeed Abedinin was rejected.  If anything, persecution is on the increase in Iran.  Your prayers and involvement in writing to Christian prisoners in Iran is greatly needed.
