April 2015 Missions Trip

I can best describe my feeling about this trip by relating the story of a farmer. When a man decides to become a farmer there are many things he has to start with. He will first purchase the land and prepare the buildings necessary for the farm, as well as get the needed equipment and supplies. There is a great deal of activity and excitement during this phase of the process and everyone is seeing the results. Then comes the time for the real work to begin, the field must be plowed and the seed, which will produce a crop, must be planted. This is hard and sometimes frustrating work. But this is where the end results will come from. When the plowing and the planting takes place, there is nervousness and grappling with what-ifs, but the plowing and planting must be done, with tears and sweat. We are in this phase, we have churches, we have believers, we have pulpits, chairs, books, videos, etc. This is all wonderful, but now the sweating and the laboring comes. The people must be taught and corrected. On this trip I spoke about holiness and modesty in the three different cities I visited. It was a real plowing and planting time, breaking down false concepts and planting new concepts. While, our Iranian brothers have spoken on these subjects in services and to individuals, it has never been presented in a comprehensive way to deal with all objections and giving the total balanced approach to it. There was positive response, but mostly, there was no response at all. This is certainly the case with a field that has been plowed and sown with seed. Little response at all, but we wait and we pray and trust that God will bring forth much fruit.
