William Branham On the Doctrine of God

Here are some statements from brother Branham on his teaching about who God is and who Christ is in relation to God.

102 Now let me draw you a little circle. If I had a blackboard… But I want you to watch here. [Brother Branham draws the following rings on something–Ed.] I’m going to make one ring like this, and I’m going to make another ring on the inside of that ring, that’s two, then I’m going to make a ring on the inside of that ring. That’s three rings, three circles. Now, that’s you.

103 That’s God. God in a trinity is One, and without a trinity He’s not God. He can’t be manifested any other way.

104 And neither can you be manifested without being the trinity person that you are, that’s: body, spirit, soul. Without either one of them, you’re not complete. See? You didn’t have a soul, you’d be nothing; you didn’t have a spirit, you wouldn’t be nothing; you didn’t have a body, you just be a spirit, not a body.

105 So, God is complete in the tri-unity of a Being; not tri-unity of beings, but One Being in a tri-unity. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is one true manifested God. God!   65-0815  AND.KNOWETH.IT.NOT_  JEFFERSONVILLE.IN  V-2 N-10  SUNDAY_

106 Notice here, just wait, I–I believe I read it just a few minutes ago. Listen to this.

… unto the angel of the church of… Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

107 God is the Creator. And how was He ever created? But this is “the beginning of the creation of God.” When God, the Spirit, was created in a form of a Man, that was God being created; God the Creator, Himself, becoming a creation. God, Who made the dirt, made the calcium, made the potash, cosmic light, petroleums, took the thing together and created Himself, in “the beginning of the creation of God.”

108 “The Amen,” the final. Amen means “so be it.” “The final of God,” when God completed in His creation.

109 Now, how was it? “No man has seen God at any time, but the only Begotten of the Father has declared Him.” You get it? IS_THIS_THE_SIGN_OF_THE_END_SIR  JEFF_IN 12-30-62 Evening 78 The Bible said hell was created for the devil and his angels. And then if it was created, it can’t be eternal; ’cause eternal, anything eternal never had a beginning or had an end. That’s how we can never die, because we was always. We’re part of God, the offspring of God. And He’s the only eternal Thing there is. Amen. You can no more die than God can die, because you’re eternal with Him. Amen. Let it come (Hallelujah.), kinda getting tired of this old pest-house anyhow. Notice, the Book written… When this angel finishes all these loose-end ministries that through the battle they fought, Luther fought, and Wesley fought, and the Pentecostals fought, but there’s coming one, says the Bible, that in the days of his sounding, all these mysteries… The Oneness run off on Jesus’ Name. The Trinity went off on Father, Son, Holy Ghost, just like they did at the Nicaea Council: same thing. They both was wrong. But now, in the middle of the road, in the Scriptures lays out the truth. You see where we are at?   SHOW_US_THE_FATHER  LA_CA 04-19-59 Evening 31 Tomorrow you’ll move your hand. The next day you’ll move your arm. And you’ll be moving on pretty soon if you’ll just keep watering it, pushing out, growing, getting bigger and bigger. Take God’s Word. It’s a Seed. Certainly, It’s a Seed. God receive–gave Abraham a promise as we’ve been studying. And Abraham let that seed get into his heart, the promise, and kept watering it with praises and thanksgiving to God for the child, and waited twenty-five years. But the tree came forth just the same, because he watered it with faith. God is in His universe. All that believe that say “Amen”. God is in His Word. Do you believe that? Now, God in His Son, sure, He was. Christ Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. The Bible said, that, “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.” The flesh part was man. The Spirit was God. Jesus said, “I can do nothing except My Father shows Me first.” When He was here on earth He–He hungered like a man. He got hungry, looked around on a tree to find something to eat; that was the Man part. But when He taken those biscuits and two little fishes and fed five thousand people, that was God doing that. SHALOM_  SIERRA_VISTA_AZ 01-12-64 3 We have never seen one another. You hear something speaking out of a body here that impersonates whatever it’s on the inside. So then when we talk to each other, we’re–we’re really not talking to the body. It’s the spirit inside, but the body is the thing that identifies the spirit that’s on the inside. And therefore, when we speak to each other, we are–quickly can understand right away whether we are Christians or not, because there’s a fellowship in the spirit that we talk from. You see, that it vibrates to one another that whether we are Christians or not. Therefore, we have never seen each other. Jesus… “No Man has seen God at any time, but the only begotten of the Father has declared Him.” See? In other words, God was identified. The–the Person of God was identified in the Body, the Lord Jesus Christ, so He was the express image of God. Or, God expressing Himself through an image (See?), through an image, Man. SHALOM_  SIERRA_VISTA_AZ 01-12-64 4 God expressed Himself to us, and He was God, not a third person or second person; He was the Person God. He was God Himself, identifying Himself, so we could feel Him. I Timothy 3:16, “Without controversy, that’s argument, great is the mystery of godliness, for God was manifested, or made known, in the flesh.” Isn’t that wonderful? God… And we could never understand God as He moves through a Pillar of Fire, and so forth, as He did. But we understood Him when He become one of us (See?), when He become Man. Then He could talk to us, and we could feel Him, handle Him, touch Him, and everything. And as the Scripture plainly says that we have handled God (See?) with our hands, touched Him with our hands… God is in man. And He’s identifying Himself today in His church. In the borned again Christian, God identifies Himself, that He remains God. And the outside world will only know God as they see God in you and I. That’s the only way that they’ll know God, is when we are written epistles, epistle of the Scripture, we are read of all men. And the life that we live reflects what’s on the inside of us. A man is identified by the works that he does. So our works should be good (See?), always good, because we are representing our Lord Jesus Christ. HEBREWS_CHAPTER_SEVEN_NO2  JEFF_IN 09-22-57 Everything that begins, ends. And this Melchisedec was not Jesus, for He was God. And what made Jesus and God different, that… 21 Jesus was the Tabernacle that God dwelt in. See? Now, Melchisedec… Jesus had both father and mother, and this Man never had father or mother. Jesus had a beginning of life and He had a end of life. This Man had no father, no mother, no beginning of days, or ending of life. But It was the self same Person; it was Melchisedec and Jesus was One; but Jesus was the earthly body, borned and fashioned after sin: God’s own body, His own Son, borned and fashioned after sin to take the sting out of death, to pay the ransom, and to receive sons and daughters unto Himself. You get it? That’s the reason that He had–He had a beginning; He had an ending. But this perfect body, in commemoration as a–as the earnest of our resurrection, God would not suffer that holy body to see corruption, because He created it Himself, and brought it forth, and resurrected it, and set it at His right hand. And today, the Holy Spirit that raised that body up is here in the Church (Blessed be the Name of the Lord.) and showing forth the same miracles and power. And someday this Holy Spirit, that’s in the Church, will scream, and will lift up, and will receive Itself into this body form that’s setting at the right hand of the Majesty of God, to make intercessions for we sinners, and by there we’re perfectly kept from sin. Not that we don’t sin, but kept from sin in the Presence of God; ’cause there’s a bloody Sacrifice standing between me and God, and between you and God.   SHOW_US_THE_FATHER  SALEM_OR 07-22-62 44 And here we find the Word being made manifest. In I John we find it; also in John 11, it says here that… And also in John 5:24, We find many places. John 14, Jesus said that, “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also.” Why? It’s the Word made manifest in them. Here some time ago I was preaching, exalting… And a woman, belongs to another church. I don’t like to call churches, denominational names; but this woman, she belonged to a church that believed in mental healing. They believe that the–that the devil is a thought, and God’s a thought, and your–your thoughts is whatever it is. They deny the Deity of Jesus Christ in this day that when people try to make Jesus just a man. Why, He was more than a man. If He was just a man, we’re all lost. He was God, nothing less of God. He was God manifest in the flesh: Jehovah, the Father, dwelling in His Son, reconciling the world to Himself. That’s the reason we was commissioned by Saint Matthew there, “baptize them in the Name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost.” Watch. Not three Gods, three manifestations of the same God. God the Father was a Pillar of Fire. It was made flesh and dwelled among us: God the Son. God above us, God with us, now, the same God, the Holy Ghost in us. Three office: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. It’s the same God, not three Gods; the one God made Hisself three offices, three manifestations. Amen. QUESTIONS_AND_ANSWERS  JEFF_IN 05-15-54 97 Thomas said, “Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.” He said, “I’ve been so long with you and you don’t know Me?” He said, “Why sayest thou, ‘Show us the Father’?” Why, He said, “When you see Me you see the Father. I and My Father are One. My Father dwelleth in Me.” A lady, here not long ago, I was talking that, jumped up, said, “Oh, Brother Branham,” said, “I–I know what you mean. They are one; sure they’re one.” Said, “You and your wife are one too. That’s the kind of one they are.” I said, “I beg your pardon,” I said, “they’re not.” I said, “Do you see me?” Said, “Sure.” I said, “You see my wife?” Said, “No.” And I said, “There. Then they’re a different kind of one than what me and my wife are.” See? I said, “That’s right.” Jesus said, “You can’t see Me without seeing the Father.” Certainly not. It’s the second part of the three-foot rule, the same rule. It’s God. Jesus Christ was either God or the greatest deceiver the world ever had. WHO_IS_THIS_MELCHISEDEC  JEFF_IN 02-21-65 Evening 18 Notice, like the sculptor, he hides with a–a mask over it. That’s what God’s done to this age. It’s been hid. All these things has been hid, and is supposed to be revealed in this age. Now, the Bible says they would be revealed in the latter times. It’s like a sculptor keeping his–his piece of work all covered over until the time he takes the mask off of it and there it is. And that’s what the Bible has been. It has been a work of God that’s been covered up. And it’s been hid since the foundation of the world, and its sevenfold mystery, and God promised in this day, at the age of this Laodicea church, He would take the mask off the whole thing and we could see it. What a glorious thing, God, “En morphe”, masked in a Pillar of Fire, God, “En morphe” in a Man called Jesus, God, “En morphe” in His church: God above us, God with us, God in us, the condescending of God. Up there holy, no one could touch Him; He settled upon the mountain, and even if a animal touched the mountain, had to die. And then God come down and changed His tent, and He come down and lived with us, become one of us, and we held Him. The Bible said, I Timothy 3:16, “Without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness, for God was manifested in the flesh,” handled with hands. God eat meat. God drank water. God slept. God cried. He was one of us: beautiful, typed in the Bible.   WHO_IS_THIS_MELCHISEDEC  JEFF_IN 02-21-65 Evening 17 Now, now, we find out that this Person had no father, no mother, no beginning of days or ending of life. It was God “En morphe”. Now, the world–the word comes–the Greek word means “change,” was used, changing Himself, “En morphe”, from one person to… One person… The Greek word there, “En morphe,” means… It was taken from the stage act, “that one person is changing his mask to make him some other character.” Like in–in school just recently–I believe, Rebekah, just before she graduated, they had one of Shakespeare’s plays. And one young man had to change his clothes several times, because he played two or three different parts, but the same person. He’d come out; one time he was the villain. And when he come out next time, he was another character. And now the Greek word “En morphe” mean that he changed His mask. And that’s what God did. It’s the same God all the time. God in the form of the Father, the–the Spirit, the Pillar of Fire, the same God was made flesh and dwelt among us: “En morphe,” brought out so He could be seen. And now, that same God is the Holy Ghost. Father, Son, Holy–not three Gods, three offices, three acts of the one God. The Bible said there’s one God, not three. But that’s how that they couldn’t… You can’t get this straightened out and have three gods. You’d never sell a Jew that; I tell you that, one who knows better; he knows there’s only one God.

  • The flesh part was man. The Spirit was God – Is it correct according to bible? If your answer is yes, please answer below words.

    Matthew 27:46-50
    King James Version (KJV)

    46And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

    47Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

    48And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

    49The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

    50Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

    1) Can any body of flesh speak without Spirit?

    John 8:16-17
    King James Version (KJV)

    16And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

    17It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
    three offices

    2) Is it testimoney of two offices OR two men? If you mean this as two offices, here jesus speaks lie. because according to branham theory, here is one god.

    John 17:22
    King James Version (KJV)

    22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

    3) What type oneness here jesus speaking?

    John 3:34
    King James Version (KJV)

    34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

    1 Corinthians 12:7-11
    King James Version (KJV)

    7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

    8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

    9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

    10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

    11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

    4) Did we got holy spirit with measure OR without measure ?

    John 14:28
    King James Version (KJV)

    28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

    5)Here, Is jesus speak about two offices ? Is father’s office is greater than son’s office?

    With love in christ

    Thomas Aaroon

  • Jesus was not a man making Himself God, it was God making Himself a man. Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus of the New Testament. God changing masks.

  • The quotes are difficult to read due to format. Also, if we want to expound on the Doctrine of God as being biblical, which it is, lets use more scriptures and less quotes to buttress our point and exegete this doctrine.
