Threat of Punishment by Tehran’s Chief Prosecutor

The chief prosecutor of Tehran, Iran, Abbas Jafari Dowlatabadi, issued a statement on TV today regarding our brothers Youcef Nadarkhani and Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani. The prosecutor did not name them by name, but said that the evangelicals will be punished. “We have arrested two of them, one in Rasht and another in Shiraz. They will be punished.” These are the towns where our brothers are being held.

We ask that you continually lift up our brothers before the Lord. They desperately need the prayer and support of believers around the world. These are dark and dangerous times for them. How great it is to serve a God of love, who is rich in mercy! We pray that God would show mercy to our brothers, give them strength and courage to endure, and increase their faith in this trial of suffering. “ Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.” Hebrews 13:3
