I received a testimony from a missionary of Middle Eastern descent who is also doing missions work in the Middle East. He informed me that he had a meeting at a local police station in the city where he is living. It was a routine meeting and he went with another person to the office. The missionaries meeting took about 15 minutes and the other person’s meeting took five hours. As he waited he prayed and read the bible in the police office courtyard.
As he was doing so a police officer recognized him and said “aren’t you the guy that we were going to deport because you were preaching the gospel to Muslims?” The missionary responded, “Yes, that was me.” The police officer called a few friends over and introduced them to the missionary. The officer then said, “don’t you know that the Bible is corrupted and the Quran is true?” The missionary said, “If that’s the case then why does the Quran say to read the Bible.” The officer said, “I didn’t know it said that. But why do you worship three gods.” The missionary said, “Are you a father?” The officer said, “Yes.” And the missionary said, “Are you a son?” The officer said, “Yes, I don’t see your point.” The missionary responded, “We’ll get to that. Aren’t you a human?” He said, “Of course.” Then the missionary said, “you get my point. There is only one God.” The Muslim officer responded, “Oh wow, so you believe in one God just like Muslims do.”
Then the officer called over several more officers and asked the missionary to repeat what he said. After it was over he testified to about seven police officers and several of them took the missionaries contact information in order to call him personally with questions about what they heard. Pray for this work in the Middle East.
We do missionary work in the Middle East and we support the travels of native missionaries and pastors within the Middle East. Please lift up this ministry in prayer. More than anything else we need the Spirit of the Lord to work through your prayers to draw those whom he has chosen.
