Details For Youcef Nadarkhani Trial

Youcef Update:  As reported previously, Youcef Nadarkhani, will be put on trial on September 8, 2012.  The official notice from the Iranian government did not detail what the charges were or the reason for his appearance. Previously, they were told during an informal conversation that he would be tried for Crimes Against National Security.  However, until we receive official notice, we won’t know of a certainty what the trial will be regarding or if the Apostasy charges have been dropped.  If those charges were dropped, he should have the opportunity to be released, at least on bail.  Unfortunately, he remains in Lakan Prison in Rasht.

Sunday July 8th marks his 1,000th day in prison.  He was sentenced to death for apostasy in September 2010 and has remained in prison since that time.  In May we obtained a letter written by Youcef to his supporters, and in it he said, “First, I would like to inform all of my beloved brothers and sisters that I am in perfect health in the flesh and spirit.”

We ask that you remember him and his family in prayer at your worship services on Sunday
